how do we measure success
Once we have a good understanding of the problems faced by our users and we have clearly articulated them, we need to be able to prioritise the ones we would try to target as first priorities or MVP of the product so that we can test if you assumptions and hypothesis are working. At this stage we should be in a position to define how we will measure the success through clearly defined metrics
01
goals
Out of the many insights we get about the users, some of the most important pieces of information are the pain areas that we have uncovered. As a team we may want to decide which are the highest priority problems we want to solve as part of the design process. We don’t target to focus on all the user problem areas but we as a team probably pick the top few.
The trick then is to turn them into goals. As an example:
[PAIN] The users find it very difficult to find whom to report the issues to –> [GOAL] The users should be able to easily report the issues to relevant teams.
02
metrics
Well, now that we have the most important problems we want to target to solve, we may be able to develop some metrics as to how we want to measure how our design has performed wrt these aspects.
The metrics could measure broadly but not limited to:
- effectiveness
- satisfaction
- efficiency
